Shantae: Full Genie Slave

“I can’t believe it…I’m a human now!” Shantae was still registering what just happened. All of her magical powers, stolen by a lamp! And not only that, but she destroyed it! Now there was no hope of it returning.

The young ex-half-genie was walking along the beach near her lighthouse home. She wanted to be alone so she could think. She would need to learn everything humans do. No more relying on magic or transformations. Her dances were now just dances. And her hair…well at least that still worked.

It’s been one day, just one, since her last meeting with the pirate Risky Boots, who attempted to steal Shantae’s magical half to use however she chooses. Shantae was able to defeat her and destroy the lamp that controlled her, but it came at a cost, which was only just now fully hitting Shantae. She could still see her magic side…it was as if she was laying in the sand…right in front of her…

“Wh-what the?!” Shantae exclaimed. She really was there! The dark version of herself! She ran up to her and knelt down. “What happened?! How are you still-”

“Nngh…Sh-Shantae…?” Dark Shantae looked up weakly. “Please…help me…”

“Wait, how are you still alive?! I destroyed you!” Shantae was in total shock.

“I will explain…just help me now…please…” Dark Shantae was clearly in critical condition. Shantae didn’t see an evil twin that tried to kill her. She saw someone in need.

“What do I have to do? What can I do? You have all my magic!”

“Technically…I am…your magic…but that’s not the point. You need to…become a full genie…and let me join you again…only then can I be saved.”

“Full genie? Why?” Shantae always wanted to be a full genie, but she knew it came with a price: should she become one, she would never see her friends in Scuttle Town again. She didn’t want that, so she made do with being just half a genie. Or not a genie at all, as she is now.

“It’s the only way…please…I don’t want to die…” Dark Shantae was looking at Shantae with tears in her eyes. She was so pleading, so desperate…Shantae couldn’t possibly say no.

“…alright, I’ll do it,” she decided. Dark Shantae smiled gratefully before passing out. Shantae picked her up and called out. “Please, I need to become a full genie and become one with this me again.” A voice responded in her head.

“You understand what happens when you become a full genie, yes?” Shantae nodded. “Good. Then it will be done.” Shantae and her dark side got transported to another realm. It was brimming with magical power. Four beautiful genies appeared around her. They all spoke some foreign dialect together as a bright light formed. Both Shantaes started to float as two orbs. One became light, the other, dark. They moved slowly into the middle until they met like an eclipse, there was a bright flash, and Shantae was whole again. She landed and stared at herself.

“All my life, this is what I wanted…it feels…wonderful. But…my friends…”

“We understand this was very sudden,” one of the other genies replied. “We will grant you one hour to speak with your friends one last time.”

“Really? Oh thank you so much!” Shantae was smiling a little sadly, but still smiling. There was another flash and she was back on the beach. “One hour, huh? Better make the most of it.” She headed back to the lighthouse she was living in and opened the door…and stepped right into chaos.

Shantae was speechless as she saw the scene unfolding before her eyes. Front and foremost was Bolo – tying a gagged Sky to a chair! Behind them, Rottytops seemed to have found a new brain to try to eat and was chasing Mimic! Friends tying up friends, Rottytops chasing a brain that isn’t Shantae’s, Mimic running around and screaming…everyone was acting very out of character!

“What the heck?!” Shantae cried out. “What is going on here?! Did Risky Boots come back and cause all this?” Sky looked at her urgently and tried to tell her something, but of course Shantae couldn’t understand her. “Bolo, untie Sky! And Rottytops, stop chasing my uncle for his brain! Just stop eating brains altogether! Everyone just KNOCK IT OFF!” Everything got quiet. “Thank you.”

"Don't worry Shantae, I got Risky Boots right here!” Bolo informed her, looking like he really believed that as he glared at Sky.

“Mmmph!” Sky glared back at him.

“Exactly, Sky. He is an idiot!” Shantae matched her glare. “And you!” She turned her attention to the other two. “Rottytops, I’m guessing Risky put you up to this too?” Rottytops nodded.

“She told me his inventor and archeologist brain would taste better than yours, you know, now that you’re human and all…” Rottytops sounded like she realized what just happened. “…she tricked me again, didn’t she?! Waaaaaah!” She started to cry. Shantae shook her head.

“I’m actually…not human anymore…” Everyone stared at her. “I found my magical half. She was dying, and the only way I could save her was to merge with her again and become a full genie. Not even a half-genie, probably because I wouldn’t have the magical power to contain it.”

“You…became a…full genie?” Rottytops said in shock. “Wow…I bet your brain would taste-”

“Stop with the brains already, seriously! How do you expect to make friends that way?”

“…we’re not friends…?” Rottytops sounded sincerely heart broken. Shantae sighed.

“Ok, we’re friends as long as you don’t eat any more brains,” she said. Rottytops smiled and nodded.

“Wait…you became a full genie just as Risky Boots caused all this…” Mimic realized.

“HMMMMPPPPHH!!!” Sky shrieked into her gag. She struggled frantically.

“I think she’s trying to say BEHIND YOU!” Bolo yelled. Shantae’s eyes instantly grew wide, suddenly realizing what all this meant. Becoming a full genie…walking into this and being distracted…

“Oh my…this is-”

“A trap!” a voice behind her finished. Shantae barely had a chance to register that before a sharp shock went through her whole body. She screamed in agony as she started to float. There was evil laughter behind, and then around, and then in front of her. “Ahahaha, you are such a predictable little genie…my plan worked perfectly!” She was holding a genie’s lamp that was shooting a beam that was wrapped around Shantae, rendering her helpless.

“Impossible!” Mimic gasped. “That lamp was destroyed! I saw it!”

“You also saw Shantae defeat her magical half, didn’t you? Well she really was dying. The brat almost broke the lamp forever and almost defeated her other half, but I was able to find the pieces to put the lamp back together and send Nega Shantae to convince this one to become a real genie to save her!” Risky was clearly very proud of herself.

“And then you saw me spying on you and decided to cause this little distraction, didn’t you?” Sky challenged. “You made Bolo tie me up and gag me to keep me silent, and made Rottytops chase Mimic so nobody would pay full attention to what was happening in the background!”

“Ohhh so smart!” Risky mocked. “I think she’ll give you a run for your money, Mr. Inventor.”

“So…Sky really was Sky?" Bolo looked at the glaring bird girl nervously.

“You are so gullible, boy," Risky laughed. "I already fooled Shantae once with a disguise, and as the phrase goes, fool you once, shame on me. Fool you twice, you get a genie slave! Ahahahahahaha!"

“W-well the joke’s on you…Risky…” Shantae breathed. “In less than an hour…I have to go to the Genie Realm…to live with my mother…forever…” Everyone gasped, having forgotten about that rule.

“Well that was the one part of my plan that could ruin everything for me,” Risky explained. “I was afraid they wouldn’t let you come back to say goodbye. But they did so it all worked out perfectly! And now…you won’t be going anywhere except right in here!” She laughed as Shantae got sucked into the lamp.

“Shantae, no!” Everyone was in shock as they witnessed what just happened.

“Aww, maybe that was sudden…guess I can still let you say your goodbyes. Come on out…slave.”

“Don’t you dare call her that!” Rottytops cried out. “She’s my bestest friend! Give her back right-” She fell silent when she saw Shantae reappear. She was on her knees with shackles on her wrists and ankles. She also had a collar with a leash that was connected to the lamp. Ashamed to look at her friends, she just stared at the ground sadly.

“Nobody’s saying anything? I guess you don’t need to say goodbye then. Don’t worry, you’ll have another chance…when we come to take over this town! Come, slave! We have some pillaging to do!” Risky laughs as she pulls Shantae back into the lamp and walks off triumphantly. Her friends just watched in stunned silence.

“G-great…” Rottytops finally whimpered. “I lost my friend, and I can’t eat brains anymore! Waaaaaahaaaaaaa!” She ran off, crying harder than before.

“Bolo…” Sky said lowly. “I should teach you a lesson for what you did to me, but I think what just happened was punishment enough…for all of us.” She walked off sadly, followed by a silent Bolo. Mimic sighed heavily and looked up at the sky.

“I’m sorry…I failed you again…this time, in the worst way possible…” he said sadly to no one. Then he just walked off.

“Mmph! Hmmm!” Shantae screamed as she was bound and gagged in Risky’s room. She was wearing a slave bikini, or what looked like a slave bikini, that Risky claimed to have gotten from these weirdos that mistook her for their fat and fully-clothed princess and gave her…this.

Risky just grinned at Shantae.

“Don’t worry, slave, you’ll get used to this!” Risky taunted. “We are going to cause so much chaos in the world…it will be incredible!” She slowly stroked Shantae’s leg, making her blush and squirm. “But for now…let’s have some fun…”
